I always enjoyed drawing as a child. My father was an Air Force pilot and afforded me the wonderful opportunity to travel and live all over the world growing up. I spent many years in Europe where I developed a great fondness for art. I studied art history at the University of Alabama. It was not until retirement in Eclectic, Alabama as
I always enjoyed drawing as a child. My father was an Air Force pilot and afforded me the wonderful opportunity to travel and live all over the world growing up. I spent many years in Europe where I developed a great fondness for art. I studied art history at the University of Alabama. It was not until retirement in Eclectic, Alabama as a Naval Nurse Corps Officer that I threw myself totally into my passion for painting in watercolor full-time.

I enjoy watching nature from dock in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by things I see in and around my home at Lake Martin, Alabama. I love recreating plants , people, and wildlife in my work. As a huge animal lover, especially dogs and cats, I have done many "pet portraits," many of which have been "memorial portraits" which I consider an honor
when asked to paint one.

I use many different mediums, such as clay, acrylics, pencil and watercolors, and especially love painting in oils. I am beginning to explore alcohol inks which is fascinating to me. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style. I am always open to trying new things.
